Top Trends in 2017

Happy New Year to everyone and many congratulations to those of you who got engaged over the festive season!

In the spirit of the New Year, we are delighted to be featured in a brand new luxury wedding magazine, OxWeddings which has hit the South East this week.  With over 10 years in the industry, we have seen all sorts of wedding crazes come and go so they asked us to make our predictions for the top  wedding trends for 2017.  Do look out for the magazine for the full list or check out our Pinterest board but our very favourite things to look out for are:

Feminised industrial weddings.

A blend of soft, feminine design with the toughness of an industrial space. What makes this style so attractive to both bride and groom is how the mixture of the two contrasting ideas creates a visually balanced look. We planned a lovely wedding embodying this style last Summer in New York for the amazing couple, Jesse & Mike.  For more on their wedding, keep an eye on Wedding Lovely who will feature them later this month.

Larger weddings, further afield

Around 30% of British couples choose to marry abroad with more and more considering long-haul destinations.  Not only that, whereas in the past destination weddings meant small guest numbers, cheaper flights make for more guests being willing to make the special trip.  The result?  Larger weddings, further afield.  We ourselves are working on larger weddings as far away as The Maldives and Caribbean.

Theatrical dresses

We’ve always been fans of brides adding a theatrical touch to their look and it seems designers are making that easy peasy in 2017.  Think the traditional, feminine silhouette with a pop of drama.  Romona Keveza is the queen of this look – we are so in love with her angular necklines and high-low hems.
